I grew up in the Wollaston section of Quincy, Massachusetts. I ran into these photo postcards for sale on eBay, and they brought back many memories.
Wollaston Train Station
My dad walked from home to this station and caught the Old Colony Line train to Boston every work day. It was later replaced by a MBTA (subway) station.
Wollaston School
This was my grammar (grade 1-6) school. It doesn't look much different today. My mother and I lived with my grandparents in a home across the street from Wollaston School during World War II while my dad was serving with the Army in Europe.
I think this photo was taken from Beale Street looking north on Safford Street. Helen and I lived further north on Safford Street when we were first married.
