S.H. Kress & Co. Building

The Kress Building in Lakeland, Florida opened in 1925 as one of the S. H. Kress Company's chain of five-and-dime stores. The store closed in 1978 and the Kress Company later sold the building to Polk County, which used it as a courthouse and office facility. The building was purchased in 1998 by the Explorations V Children's Museum.in Lakeland, Florida
