The Pepper Building
The Pepper Building, Winston-Salem, North Carolina, was built as a department store in 1928. The building is an excellent example of commercial Art Deco design and reflects Winston-Salem’s “era of success” during the 1920s, when Winston-Salem emerged as one of the leading urban commercial and industrial centers in the state and southeast.
