1761_court_house,_pownalborough
The 1761 Pownalborough Courthouse is the only pre-Revolutionary War Courthouse left in Maine. John Adams tried a case here. Other famous visitors included Robert Treat Paine and Benedict Arnold. The Courthouse was also a tavern, a post office and home to the same family for over 200 years. (photo by Steve Forrest)
